NaNoWriMo 2019
A retelling of Hamlet. Here's hoping it's good, ya? |
NaNoWriMo 2017
For 2017, I decided to work through a story set in the universe in which I've already written. This was done, in part, because it simplified the world-building I had to do--having already done it--and it let me focus on writing something intensely character-based but still have the science fiction elements that I like to write. As I've done in years past, you're welcome to view the story as it's being made (each chapter has its own tag in the NaNoWriMo 2017 blog), starting at Chapter 1, or reading the entire thing.

What 2016 Looked likeIn 2016, I wrote a novel called Cloudfarmers, a steampunk story. Rather than putting a polished piece up on line (like my sample), I thought I would upload each chapter as I finished it--no revision, no rewrites, no changes. This is the concept of butt-in-chair-fingers-on-keyboard writing. I pushed the story out over the course of November 2016, writing (essentially) a chapter a day. You can read the whole thing starting with Chapter 1.
